The Cincinnati Bengals brought back Samaje Perine in free agency but will need to look elsewhere for depth behind him.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Khalil Herbert has agreed to a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
As fans likely remember, Herbert was one of the all-time rare in-season trades for the Bengals last season. They traded for him in early November in exchange for a seventh-round pick.
Still just 26, there was an outside chance the Bengals decided to bring Herbert back as depth. Instead, it’s Chase Brown and Perine atop the depth chart, with Zack Moss’ injury outlook still very much up in the air.
