WASHINGTON (7News) — The Girl Scouts of America are being sued over the alleged presence of heavy metals, including lead, as well as the pesticide, glyphosate, in some of their cookies.
The proposed class action lawsuit was filed last night in New York. Plaintiffs are seeking at least five million dollars in damages for anyone in that state who bought the cookies, which the suit claims were in violation of New York’s consumer protection laws.
The consumer group, Moms Across America, tested 25 samples of cookies from three states. Their results included the following:
