SCRANTON, Pa. — Community members and first responders across Lackawanna County are mourning the loss of Lieutenant Kelly Hopkins of the Scranton Fire Department.
Serving more than 40 years with the department, Hopkins passed away at his home Sunday morning after a long battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
On Sunday, family members tell Newswatch 16 Hopkins passed away surrounded by his children and his family.
