Yankees’ Aaron Boone had perfect roast for Mets’ Juan Soto

After failing to keep Juan Soto in the Bronx this offseason, the Yankees are seeing the superstar slugger in orange and blue for the first time.

The Mets and Yankees will play each other in an exhibition game Monday afternoon, with Soto reuniting with his old teammates after signing his historic 15-year, $765 contract with the Mets in December.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone caught up with his former player during warmups.

“I told him he looked terrible in that uniform,” Boone told reporters.

Soto, 26, had the best 162-game season of his career in 2024 with the Yankees, hitting 288 with a .989 OPS and posting career highs in hits (156), run scored (128) and home runs (41).

Over 15 Grapefruit League games with the Mets his spring training, Soto is hitting .306 with a 1.104 OPS, four homers and nine RBI.
