Laettner played four seasons at Duke University, helping the school win back-to-back national championships in 1991 and 1992. He famously hit a game-winning shot against Kentucky in the 1992 NCAA tournament and was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame.

He also developed a reputation for being one of the most hated sports figures among rival fans, leading to the ESPN documentary “I Hate Christian Laettner.”

The NCAA men’s tournament continues this weekend with the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds.
