Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Megasaray Hotels Open 2 by defeating Romanian Ana Bogdan 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday.
Carle, ranked No 97, will play Slovak Veronika Erjavec next.
Ahead of her victory, the Argentinian edged out Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz (2-6, 6-4, 7-5).
Bogdan, ranked No 160, edged out wildcard Ipek Oz (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round.
