Slovak Veronika Erjavec reached the semi-finals of the Megasaray Hotels Open 2 by winning against Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 5 seed, 1-6, 7-6 (8), 6-2 on Friday.
Erjavec, ranked No 154, will face Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva next.
The Slovak defeated Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-4) and Chinese Xinyu Gao (7-5, 7-6 (5)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Carle, ranked No 97, edged out Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz (2-6, 6-4, 7-5) and won against Romanian Ana Bogdan (6-2, 6-3).
