Lowe only had 387 plate appearances last season due to injury.
Josh Lowe is one of the promising dual-threat players in MLB. Two seasons ago, Lowe hit 20 home runs and stole 32 bases while slashing .292/.335/.500 in 501 plate appearances. The ISO was a respectable .208.
Last season, he suffered an oblique injury and only accrued 387 plate appearances. The slash plummeted to .241/.302/.391 while the ISO was only .150.
Well, it may be a case of deja vu, as Lowe left Friday’s game against the Colorado Rockies after swinging at a pitch that resulted in a single. He was able to run to first base but immediately headed to the locker room.
Jose Caballero was the substitute for Lowe.
