Watch live weather radar as severe weather moves through the Louisville area.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Parts of Kentucky are bracing for a moderate risk for severe weather, including possible tornadoes, overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.

WHAS11’s Weather Impact Team has issued an Weather Impact Alert Day for Saturday due to rounds of strong-to-severe thunderstorms.

The line of storms is expected to weaken as it moves into the Louisville-area, but could still produce gusty winds and heavy rain, especially for areas west of I-65 before sunrise.

The more significant threat of severe storms in Kentuckiana will develop Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

A more significant risk of a tornado outbreak will be south of Kentucky, especially over Alabama and Mississippi.
