Panhandle schools releasing early on Tuesday due to high wind


AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Some area schools are dismissing early on Tuesday due to the high wind event.

Silverton ISD will be dismissing students at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday due to a planned power outage for the area.

Tulia ISD will be dismissing students at 12:30 p.m. due to the possibility of power outages.

Friona ISD will dismiss students at the following times on Tuesday:

  • Pre-K: 12:15 p.m.
  • Kindergarten – 5th Grade: 12:30 p.m.
  • Junior High: 12:40 p.m.
  • High School: 12:35 p.m.

Bovina ISD will have the following bell schedule for an early release on Tuesday:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 – 7:55
  • 1st Period: 8:00 – 8:32
  • 2nd Period: 8:36 – 9:08
  • 3rd Period: 9:12 – 9:44
  • 4th Period: 9:48 – 10:20
  • 6th Period: 10:24 – 10:56
  • 7th Period: 11:00 – 11:32
  • 8th Period: 11:36 – 12:08
  • HS/MS Lunch: 12:12 – 12:46

Lazbuddie ISD will release at 12:35 p.m., with junior high and high school running their early release schedule. Buses will leave the school at 12:40 p.m.
